Jimmie Lee Kirkpatrick and De Kirkpatrick share their story about race, football, and civil rights in 1960s Charlotte at UNC Charlotte’s Levine Lecture Feb. 21. The men’s compelling, intertwined histories as descendants of slave and slave owner has ongoing relevance to Charlotte’s progress towards creating greater racial equality.
