Since his 2009 YouTube™ release paying homage to the death of Michael Jackson at the end of a church service to his numerous silent film accompaniments – Charlotte native and Director of Music and the Arts of Christ Episcopal Church in Myers Park – Robert Ridgell has led the way with expanding the genre of organ music beyond its typical church-medley bounds. Robert Ridgell will perform his original accompaniment to the 1924 Lon Chaney silent black and white film – THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA with his original accompaniment on the pipe organ at Christ Episcopal.
