The Mill & The Cross

When: Sat., Nov. 17, 3 & 7:30 p.m. 2012

It's a concept worthy of Charlie Kaufman: The 16th century Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel not only created the religious piece "The Procession to Cavalry" but also traipsed about inside his own work, refashioning the landscape to 1564 Flanders, holding a conversation with an art collector, and even bumping into the Virgin Mary. That's the premise of Polish filmmaker Lech Majewski's The Mill and the Cross, starring Rutger Hauer as the artist, Michael York as the collector and Charlotte Rampling as Mary.
