Sneak a peek at your calendar and, as hard as it may seem to believe, you'll notice that New Year's Eve is almost upon us. So -- as usual -- we here at Creative Loafing have put together an extensive list of local NYE-oriented events. Now you have no excuse for sitting on your ass at home watching New Year's Rockin' Eve as 2008 comes to a close.

Exposed To Hollywood: New Year's Eve at Alive. Hosted by the celebrity host Greg Money-Man Jones. Features a red carpet starting at 9:30 p.m. (doors open at 10 p.m.), champagne giveaways, Victoria's Secret gift bags for the sexiest female, music by DJ Von Dutch and DJ Skinny Magic and a breakfast buffet after the festivities, serving food until 3 a.m. First 50 ladies get in free and everyone 21 and up gets in free until 11 p.m. For VIP table reservations, call 919-522-4462. New Year's Eve Cocktails. Gallery Restaurant will offer festive cocktails and an "urban chill" lounge with music by DJ Collin. Free admission and a la carte pricing by selection.
