Caught At Lunch Driving on S. Tryon Street in the right lane, a motorist noticed a truck stopped in the oncoming lane that was waiting to turn. The truck turned across the left lane and into the motorist's lane, which caused the man to swerve onto the sidewalk to avoid the truck. This move ruptured the motorist's front tire. The truck driver pulled into a car wash, got out and helped the motorist change his tire. He acknowledged the accident was his fault and offered to pay for repairs. The motorist took down the truck driver's contact information, and eventually sent the $319.76 bill for the repairs to the truck driver's business. After not receiving a check, the motorist called the truck driver, who swore the check was in the mail. More than a month later, the motorist spotted the truck driver at lunch and asked him for the money again. The truck driver gave him his card and said he would look into it further. The motorist finally called the police.
