Been Caught Stealing: A worker at a local delivery package service was caught on tape stealing a package from a conveyor belt. When the suspect was confronted, he admitted to stealing the package, but then explained that he threw the package away when, much to his chagrin, he discovered it contained only machine parts.

Stolen Identity: A woman contacted police after an unknown person called her employer's human resource department assuming her identity, and proceeded to change her home address. The mystery caller had also obtained the victim's W-2 forms.

Hello? Thief?: Upon realizing he had left his cell phone on the bus, a man dialed the number and was shocked when someone answered. When the man started asking questions about the phone, the crook abruptly hung up.

Video Game Vandals: A manager at a local movie theater discovered that some little heathen(s) had broken various controls and parts on several video arcade games and a change machine, causing an estimated $200 in damage.

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Speeding Car: A US Postal Service employee reported that while delivering the mail, some unknown person tried to strike him with her vehicle.

Driveway Dilemma: As he pulled into his driveway, a man was surprised to find another car parked in his driveway, and that it was occupied by a gent with whom he had had a previous altercation. When he confronted the trespasser, the man pointed a gun at him and ordered him to step back. The gun-toting bad guy then drove away without further incident.

Catfight: While standing outside her residence, a woman was approached by another female, and the two became engaged in a verbal dispute. The argument quickly escalated, and one female struck the other in the face with a cup. The two were momentarily separated, but then the cup-wielding woman charged again, this time striking the other female in the face with her fist.

Munchies To Go: While watching a security camera, a grocery store employee observed a man grab several items and leave the store without paying for them. The crook's ill-gotten groceries included gum, shrimp, hot pockets, Snapple and chips.

Sweet Dreams: While arguing over what time their child should go to sleep, a man struck his wife in the back and then grabbed her by the throat and pulled her down a hallway. He fled the scene before police arrived.Blotter Items are chosen from the files of the Charlotte Police Department.
