IF I CAN'T STAY, NEITHER CAN YOU: A 20-year-old woman said her friend took her house key and would not return it, locking both of them out of the apartment. She said he took it after getting mad at her because she wouldn't let him stay in her apartment.

EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT: A former employee of Stein Mart, located on Sharon Amity Road, was fed up with the retail industry and decided to quit; however, she still wanted to enjoy the perks of retail, such as the employee discount. She went to several Stein Mart locations around the Charlotte region, telling cashiers that she was employed with the company so she could get the employee discount. She racked up more than $100 in savings before she was caught.

ANOTHER DUMB THIEF: A manager at Target on Rae Road said an employee was caught by the store's security cameras stealing gaming gear for his Xbox.

ThREAT OF THE WEEK: A 17-year-old woman said she'd been receiving harassing calls. She said the caller threatened her by saying, "I'm gonna find out where the fuck you live ... that you better believe and I'm gonna come at you hard and beat your fucking ass down."
