Since singer Adam Lazarra and guitarist John Nolan live in Charlotte, we can consider Taking Back Sunday to be a local band, right? Eh, probably not, but that doesn’t mean a local show doesn’t bring out some of the band’s best energy. TBS released its sixth album, Happiness Is, earlier this year — its second with a revived early lineup — that continues to show maturity in sound and songwriting. (Jeff Hahne)
