Charlotte has produced plenty of dope rap albums, EPs and mixtapes over the years, but none better than Sulfur’s 2015 collection Re: Birth. The underrated gem slams to a start after a little motivational speech name-checking Muhammad Ali and Batman, running from the gritty, guitar-drums attack and booming bass of “Ain’t Stoppin” to the jazz-fueled “Yesterdaz” to the strings-drenched “One Step at a Time,” all marked by Sulfur’s completely original snotty flow.
