This is not the week to be on a diet. It's the week to splurge during an event that tempts you to indulge in sweets of all kinds. Sugar Rush, presented by NFocus magazine, will feature a mix of treats from local-area bakers and confectioners who are competing against one another in a Top Chef-style showdown for best dessert and the title of "Queen City Sweetheart." Tickets come with an unlimited sampling of treats from 14 participants, plus specialty coffees and wine. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit NC Dance Theatre.
