For All Signs: August is an eclipse season this year. The new moon of the 1st and the full moon of the 18th are both eclipsed. In ancient times eclipses were believed to be frightening, heralding negative omens, especially in regions of their visibility. Contemporary astrologers now perceive these seasons to be periods that relieve critical mass, similar to that of a small earthquake. For many of us this month, situations that have long been brewing will come to a full boil. Many people experience very positive results of past effort during eclipse periods. Aries: For the moment, it seems as though a lot of your time and energy is absorbed by tedium. We have periods in which we simply do what is required. Skyscrapers cannot be built without deep foundations. For a few Rams, personal health may be slowing your progress now.
Taurus: You are under the veil of illusion concerning relationships. You may be perceiving yourself as selfless or the Other as "too good to be true." Add a touch of realism here, and you will be more accurate. Neither of you is that great.
Gemini: Think carefully about what is truly important to you now, at this time in your life. Don't allow old habits or rules from the past to make your decision for you. If you do let that happen, you will likely resent the outcome.
Cancer: This eclipse series accents personal and financial resources. Greater awareness will develop related to expenditures of time, energy and money. Debts need to be repaid. You need to eliminate or recycle whatever is no longer useful in your life.
Virgo: This is a week in which you will tend to be thinking obsessively. It is an opportunity to learn how to better control your mind. Shift your attention to something less dramatic rather than worrying yourself into a state of guilt.
Libra: The scales fall from your eyes as an illusion is vaporized. This occurs in the territories of friendship, lovers, children or yourself. (Yes, we carry illusions about ourselves.) Nothing really has changed. Whatever the disappointment, it is short lived.
Scorpio: The brew stirring in your life at the moment is at the workplace. This can be broadened to include your life direction and social contribution. For the moment concentrate on being part of the solution.
Sagittarius: You are having a conflict between the big picture (always your preferred view) and finding the means to reach that goal. Technicalities are not your thing, but right now the "devil is in the details." It looks like this is your baby for the present.
Capricorn: You have a plan for expansion that you are certain will be successful. This month you are missing some key factors, such as supplies or possibly adequate financial support. Look to the latter half of August for relief.
Aquarius: Things are brewing in the arena of partnerships. Your partner may be feeling "eclipsed" and is wanting more of your attention. What is your pattern in significant relationships? How can you find a better balance between your own and partner's needs?
Pisces: Beware the temptation to feel sorry for yourself this week. If you want attention, then ask for it, rather than sulking because someone cannot read your mind. Your imagination is vivid and may be dark right now.
