You're probably too old for trick or treating, but never fear. The Q.C. has plenty going on in honor of Halloween -- from haunted houses to parties where you can dress in costume. Here are some recommendations, but see Special Events listings in our Happenings section for more information.

• Wanting to celebrate Halloween with a scare? Charlotte's got your fix of haunted attractions. Carowinds transforms into Scarowinds and The Haunted Mill corrupts Wilkinson Boulevard, with a haunted mill tour and cosmic 3-D mini-golf. There's also ghouls lurking on Independence Boulevard, for Nightmare on Independence, which features two floors of terror -- Mystery Mansion and Blood Basement. See Web sites for details. www.scarowinds.com. www.thehauntedmillnc.com. www.charlottehaunts.com.

CarnEVIL brings two nights of mayhem into Amos' Southend. It all goes down Friday, Oct. 31 with a show featuring music from Black Lagoon and Migo Dirge and Saturday, Nov. 1 with Big Mamma D's House of Burlesque and a zombie fashion show. $25-$35. 8 p.m. Amos' Southend, 1423 S. Tryon St. 704-377-6874. www.amossouthend.com.

• Guys with Ties throws its 3rd Annual Monster Mash at Cans Bar & Canteen. Proceeds will go toward The Bethlehem Center. $10. 8 p.m. Cans Bar & Canteen, 500 W. 5th St. 704-940-0200.

• Single Cell Productions presents Purgatory Road Show: Something Wicked This Way Comes -- featuring three fetish performances, a DJ and a CD release party for the local industrial music group Filth on Demand. $15. 8 p.m. The Gold Club, 5624 Old Pineville Rd. 704-523-4545. www.singlecell.us.

• Celebrate via the Rocky Horro-ween party, which offers a screening of the cult-favorite musical/movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Live actors will animate the show and the audience can participate. In addition, there will be a costume contest and a complimentary buffet. 18 and up welcome. $15-$20. 10 p.m. Hart Witzen Gallery, 136 E. 36th St. 704-795-8979. www.stone-essence.com.

• PopScar Industries presents Sihk-Or-Treat, which offers a night of music -- from acid-shock rockers Astrid Haven to the goth-industrial Anders Manga. The event is hosted by Lilith Deville and Beth Ann Phetamine and will also feature Stitchy-C and Brown Bag Special, Streifte Geist, DJ Spider and more. $6-$10. 7 p.m. Tremont Music Hall, 400 W. Tremont Ave. 704-343-9494. www.tremontmusichall.com.
