The National Public Radio show This American Life -- loved by geeks everywhere (yes, you!) and hosted by the nerd-tastic Ira Glass -- comes to the big screen tonight for a one-time event aptly titled This American Life Live! TAL Live! brings together Glass with a cadre of the program's most popular contributors -- like sex columnist Dan Savage (whose work appears in this here paper) and Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, among others -- for a two-hour live stage performance that will be simulcast to more than 400 movie theaters across the country. So, come on, turn off WFAE for one night, and get your geek on at the cinema. $20. 8 p.m.-10 p.m. Showing at two theaters: Concord Mills 24, 8421 Concord Mills Blvd.; and Stonecrest 22 @ Piper Glen, 7824 Rea Road. www.wfae.org.
