This month's First Friday at Mint Museum Uptown is celebrating Romare Bearden's 100th birthday with the opening of Romare Bearden: Southern Recollections. The artsy shindig starts with a special look at a newly acquired Bearden piece, "Back Porch Serenade." Guests will have the opportunity to create their own masterpieces using liquid watercolor and collage, chow down and enjoy music by Charlotte Folk Society. Clips from WTVI's unreleased Charlotte's Bearden at 100 to be shown.
