Cirque du Soleil isn't world-renowned for nothing. The Quebec-based organization produces mesmerizing shows around the world and luckily is stopping in Charlotte (following performances of Totem back in March) for Alegria. The show features 55 performers and musicians from 15 different countries in thrilling and artsy displays of acrobatics, motion, music, costumes and more. Folks can expect to witness trapeze, Russian and aerial high bars, contortion, fire/knife dancing and other astounding tasks. The title of the show - Spanish for elation, joy and jubilation - was named with good reasoning, as the "don't try this at home" prospect is certainly present in these acts.
