Songs of Romance and Poetry for Solo Piano and Voice

Pianist Matthew Manwarren and Tenor Jeffrey Price will perform Schumann's 'Dichterliebe, Op.48', a masterful song cycle based on the poetry of Heinrich Heine. Solo piano pieces will include works by Liszt, Scriabin and Gershwin. Love songs from the musical theater genre will close the program. Matthew Manwarren is organist at Myers Park Baptist Church and Professor of Music at Winthrop University, where he is Coordinator of Keyboard Studies, Professor of Piano and Instructor of Organ. Jeffrey Price has been a soloist with numerous symphony orchestras and has had an acclaimed vocal coaching career at several institutions such as UNC-Charlotte.
