“The Clothesline Muse” is a multi-discipline theater project conceived by choreographer Kariamu Welsh and collaborators Nnenna Freelon and Maya Freelon Asante. In this performance, the task of washing clothes by hand is transformed into beautiful imagery, dance and song. Nnenna Freelon becomes “The Muse” in the production, telling the story of American class, culture, and dreams through a woman’s eyes.
