Slavery By Another Name

When: Sun., Feb. 12, 2 p.m. 2017

Based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning book, this documentary examines how slavery continued long after the Emancipation Proclamation. Letters, photos and dramatic reenactments present a dark, decades-long chapter in American history, where Southern states entrapped and convicted African-Americans, handing out 5-10 year sentences for minor offenses, to provide cheap convict labor for emerging industries.

Price: Free with admission.
