Silent Movie Night

When: Thu., March 21, 8:30 p.m. 2013

An icon of silent film, Charlie Chaplin stars in Petra's latest screening for Silent Movie Night. In 1925's The Gold Rush, Chaplin, aka "The Tramp," travels to Canada's Yukon for the Klondike gold rush. After seeing the townspeople in a tizzy, he gives up on the quest for gold and reaches for love with an uninterested saloon girl. Instead, he gets caught in the middle of two fighting gold diggers and later ends up helping one of them, who is suffering from amnesia, to reclaim his fortune. Now that's generosity! Accompanying the film will be live music by pianist Ethan Uslan, joined by Leo Soto (percussion) and Alina MacNichol (voice).
