The Schloss Summer Lecture, Living in the Tension Between Safety and Freedom: In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, the community is asking many questions about security and civil liberties. Guest panelists, Rabbi Judy Schindler, Temple Beth El; James E. Jewell, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Operational Support Branch of the FBI’s Charlotte Division; Scott Broyles, Assistant Professor at Charlotte School of Law; Jake Sussman, lawyer at Tin Fulton Walker & Owen will address the questions: “What freedoms do I need to give up to be safe? What safeties do I need to give up to be free?"
