I have yet to meet a DreamWorks film that I didn’t really love. Maybe too much. So when Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Sandman and Jack Frost joined forces for Rise of the Guardians, the child in me let out a silent cheer. As part of the Movies Under the Stars series, South Park is screening the fantasy flick that’s based on the book series by William Joyce. Recipient of the Hollywood Animation Award in 2012, the film tells the story of a group of childhood characters who unite under the command of the Man in the Moon to stop the evil Pitch Black from submerging the world into darkness. Sounds brutal, huh? Notable voices include Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Jude Law and Isla Fisher. The film will be shown on a 30-foot screen at the spacious and calming Symphony Park.
