Disney elects to host the world premiere of the new Pixar film, Cars, in the "Home of NASCAR." The animated yarn maps out the journey of hotheaded rookie racer, Lightning McQueen, as he wanders off-the-beaten path into "sleepy" Radiator Springs. Sparing no expense, the folks at Disney partnered with Texas Instruments to create the first multi-screen digital cinema premiere comprised of four custom-built outdoor movie screens with three digital projectors apiece all hooked up to a stellar sound system created specifically for this event. Celebrity guests include voice cast members: Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, and Larry the Cable Guy, NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip, and other racing world stars. Proceeds will benefit Speedway Children's Charities and the Association of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps. Unfortunately, the 30,000 tickets made available to the public sold out a month ago. But if you are among the fortunate ticket holders, gates at Lowe's Motor Speedway open at 6pm on Friday, May 26. If you have any questions about the event or your tickets, call 1-800-455-3267.
