The Deal: It's the last two months' worth of Green Lantern comics, continuing the "Secret Origin" storyline that seeks to detail some of the, uh, secrets about Green Lantern's origin.

The Good: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Writer Geoff Johns is responsible for penning the best stories being published by DC Comics these days. I've heard rumors that corporate bigwigs at DC have been thinking about naming Johns executive editor of the company -- and I heartily support the idea. Johns has the utmost reverence for characters like Green Lantern and he understands what makes them tick enough to make even the most continuity-heavy hero accessible for new readers. As a result, when Johns retcons bits of Green Lantern's origin -- like he's doing in the current arc -- readers won't get up in arms. Ultimately, we trust this guy to do what's best for the character in the long run, not just for a quick sales boost. Oh and the art is fabulous, too. I see Reis becoming a star on par with guys like Carlos Pacheo and Gary Frank in the very near future.

The Bad: Nothing to see here. It's all good.

The Verdict: Green Lantern is pretty much as good as it gets for a superhero comic book. Buy it.
