When: Sat., Sept. 7 2013

PUNK ROCK PICNIC 6 The Charlotte punk scene may not always get the attention of some other genres, but it has a way of surviving, even thriving, amidst the neglect. Nowhere is that more evident than the annual Punk Rock Picnic — now in its sixth year. An eclectic mix will take to the two-stage setup, everything from the singalong street punk of Charlotte bands All Rise and South Side Punx to the hardcore thrash of Dirty South Revolutionaries. If you’re more into ska, you can check out Greenville, S.C.’s Jojo Taterhead Revival and Hermits of Suburbia, out of Atlanta. In all, 11 bands will perform throughout the afternoon and into the night, including the debut of new local band Drone, made up of former members of the now-defunct bands IED and Advertisement. Oh yeah, and free hot dogs, should you need further incentive. With Stuck Lucky, Dirty South Revolutionaries, Southside Punx, Jojo Taterhead Revival, No Anger Control, The Not Likelys, The Rogue Nations, Hermits of Suburbia, Sick Sick Sick, All Rise.
