This living history program will bring back to life the Polk family of Mecklenburg County in November 1795, when James K. Polk was born into the family. Activities will include costumed interpretation, open-hearth cooking, time period music and dance, and hands-on children's games. The event will culminate with a celebratory cake cutting to honor the President's 218th birthday. Bring the entire family to enjoy this wonderful day of historic celebrations!
