CHARLOTTE, NC – (December 30, 2021) – Portman Residential, a real estate development company affiliated with longstanding Atlanta-based Portman Holdings, announced today they have closed on land located at 2120 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina. The land was purchased in partnership with an institutional investor.
Located in Charlotte’s thriving South End submarket, the 1.9 acre project will include multifamily and retail. The South End submarket is well known as Charlotte’s top neighborhood for walkable urban living and a curated restaurant scene. The LYNX Blue Line Light Rail, Charlotte’s dynamic 18.6-mile rail line and walking trail, acts as the “spine” of the area. The LYNX Blue Line connects South End to the city’s other popular neighborhoods, including NoDa, Uptown, South End and LoSo. The LYNX Blue Line has acted as a catalyst for economic growth in South End and has driven the decision of many companies to relocate along the Rail.
“The South End is known as Charlotte’s heartbeat, and we are proud to contribute to South End’s continued vibrancy with a high-quality mixed-use development,” said Harvey Wadsworth, Portman Residential. “This area offers residents a little bit of everything, and we are excited to develop a centerpiece of this thriving submarket.”
Groundbreaking is expected to happen in early 2023. For more information, visit portmanresidential.com.
