Playwright Michael Frayn's Noises Off is an iffy stage production. Its multiple plot lines make for a confusing, hard-to-pull-off show. That's not to say that the comedy — when done right — can't be entertaining. It's funny, so kudos to CPCC's Summer Theatre for its bravery in staging the high-maintenance play-within-a-play. For those unfamiliar, the plot follows a theater troupe and its error-filled rehearsals prior to the premiere of "Noises On" — a theatrical number with pantless gals and guys opening and closing doors. Don't go worrying about repetitiveness though. As the disarray in the acts increases, the root of the chaos — a backstage drama involving anger, jealousy, wooing and sardines (yep, the fishies) — is revealed.
