Charlotte, North Carolina (May 3, 2022) - Readers will be excited to hear that Hope Andersen is back with her much awaited novel, Where The Wind Blows, the second in her Helen Ferry series, published by Warren Publishing. After a tumultuous divorce, Helen’s ex-husband unexpectedly dies and she is left to navigate change once again. But what happens when a new love interest comes into her life? Helen once again starts to question herself and who she is, and must find the confidence to let go and ride the flow.
“The idea is to assist life, not resist it. Life is fickle, unpredictable and full of ups and downs” says Andersen. “However, living life is much more pleasurable if we can just put ourselves in the flow, in the moment, and let the wind blow us where it will.” Andersen does an excellent job of finding the joy in the unexpected and sharing how one woman’s journey can help others see their own in a different light.
The first novel in the series, When The Moon Winks, had Helen “learning that happiness and success do not come from things like jobs, titles, and possessions, but from relationships.” Left betrayed by her husband and navigating an evolving relationship with her daughter, Grace, Helen learns that when it comes to other relationships, she is still skeptical but has to be less judgmental, more open, and work on herself.
Where The Wind Blows picks up with the reappearance of a possible suitor, charming Welshman Gerard Ferguson. Helen’s belief in the significance of relationships and how they can define a person is challenged by her strong feelings for Gerard. She struggles with self-doubt and insecurities, and readers are left to wonder if she can navigate past them and allow herself the joy she so desperately craves.
As they get older, women begin to examine their lives in a new way. Andersen says that women “realize they can reinvent their lives, that they no longer have to be defined by the roles they have hitherto accepted for themselves. We realize that anything is possible if we try.” Andersen astutely explores women’s growth by sharing Helen’s in the hope that she can assist others on their own journeys.
