THE NEW MASTERSOUNDS Listening to this quartet from Leeds, England, one gets visions of little 13” color TVs, where Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch may just stroll off the screen and into the living room. The band concocts old-time, ’70s funk with jazzy breaks with a contemporary disposition. On record, guest vocalists such as Grace Potter add a smooth element.
