It’s not unusual for a group of New Orleans musicians touring the South to be called “iconoclasts,” so we were skeptical when we heard the same about this sextet. But these guys have the skill to back up, and the friends to lend them cred; Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na, New Orleans legend Ivan Neville and David Shaw of the Revivalists all make contributions to NP’s newest album, Identity, and this ID isn’t fake. Catching them for free in Charlotte is a treat.
