If you could mesh an off-the-hook opera performance with a blaring rock show, the end result would be something like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The group of multi-instrumentalist musicians, including founder and mastermind Paul O'Neill, is known for putting a rock-hearted spin on Christmas-themed songs. It will bring its very extravagant show -- which features everything from lights being synced to the music, pyrotechnics, and lots of other special surprises (I'm not telling) -- to Time Warner Cable Arena tonight. In addition to dated holiday classics by the band, those who attend the show should also expect to hear new music from the band's long awaited, double-disc album, Night Castle. It contains 26 tracks of intricately-woven progressive rock melodies. For tickets, call 1-800-745-3000. $25-$60. 8 p.m. Time Warner Cable Arena, 333 E. Trade St. 704-688-9000. www.timewarnercablearena.com.
