Tool is one of those bands that has transcended musical boundaries, so to speak. Having formed in the 90s, the group continues to release worthy music, -- the latest being 2006's 10,000 Days -- though not quite as quickly as some fans would like. The bands ability to go from soft melodic melodies to harsh thrashing rhythms is almost a bit schizophrenic. Needless to say, Tool's talents go beyond all that, even bringing new elements to what is known as artistic expression. You can catch Tool performing at Bojangles' Coliseum on July 29. $30-$66. 8 p.m. Bojangles' Coliseum, 2700 E. Independence Blvd. 704-522-6500. www.bojanglescoliseum.com. www.ticketmaster.com.
