Many music fans only know Raphael Saadiq as the frontman of the R&B/hip-hop/pop trio Tony! Toni! Toné! But his musical rap sheet is much deeper than that. Check the liner notes on CDs by soul artists like D'Angelo, Teedra Moses and Joss Stone, and you'll see Saadiq listed as producer. Which makes his latest album, The Way I See It -- an album produced to sound like old-time, 1960s-era soul music -- seem almost expected. That said, keep your ears peeled for a ton of classic soul sounds when Saadiq hits the Amos' Southend stage. 18 and over. $30. 8:30 p.m. Amos' Southend, 1423 S. Tryon St. 704-377-6874. www.amossouthend.com.
