I didn't really get word of Citizen Cope until the release of his second album The Clarence Greenwood Recordings released in 2004 on RCA records. In 2002 his debut self-titled album was released and in 2006, his most recent album Every Waking Moment popped into the music scene. But, I'm digressing (and his bio is not really the most extensive). What I want to share is that since Citizen Cope's aka Clarence Greenwood's start in 2002 he has jumped through a hula-hoop of musical boundaries and twirled up his own acoustic and rock vibes into music that touches listeners and functions as a meditative and spiritual escape for Greenwood himself. Alice Smith to open. $25. 8 p.m. Neighborhood Theatre, 511 E. 36th St. 704-358-9298. www.neighborhoodtheatre.com.
