When: Aug. 26-Sept. 20 2013
The UNC-Charlotte exhibit is based around the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze’s theories on multiplicity and the concept that we are always in a state of becoming. But if that’s too heavy to wrap your brain around, don’t worry — come and see the exhibit anyway. Alumni artists Daniel Allegrucci, Austin Ballard, Leigh Brinkley, Lorraine Turi, Banks Wilson and the duo, Liliya Zalevskaya and David Scott Sackett, will showcase their latest works, a blend of notable creations. Allegrucci’s “Daniel” uses bursts of color to distinguish what resembles action-packed explosions found in comic books. Meanwhile, Turi’s photographic “Stand” captures the face-off between a farmer and a businessman, set in a cornfield with papers blowing around them. Held in UNC-Charlotte’s Rowe Art Galleries.
