Drinking becomes a much more noble activity when it’s put alongside the words “science” and “charity.” On July 11, Discovery Place is taking full advantage of that fact with the newest incarnation of its Mixology series, “Monarchs & Martinis.” The event, which consists of a cocktail hour and a showing of the IMAX film Flight of the Butterflies, is an opportunity, just like all Mixology series events, for young professionals to socialize, enjoy drinks and hors d’oeurves and get the warm fuzzies from charitable contributions (included in the ticket price) to the Discovery Place. Of course, that warmth could also just be the booze sinking in.
