MILO GREENE

Though this Los Angeles-based quartet takes its name from its imaginary road manager, Milo Greene is the real deal when it comes to rhythmic song craft. They’ve progressed from languid harmony-drenched folk-pop to brisk, ’80s New Wave-infused pop. Swapping influences from Fleet Foxes to Wham works better than it should. With their latest album, Control, they skate on the delicious tension between burbling synths and R&B swing. (Pat Moran)
