The legend continues to grow around the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, the document from 1775 that preceded the forefathers’ signing of one in the next year, even as historians call it a myth. True ot not, the museum will host a party on the lawn of one of the alleged signers, where attendees can watch reennactments of the signing, try cooking demos in the detached kitchen and take a Colonial beer brewing tutorial in Capt. Jack’s Tavern while enjoying a few suds from Bold Missy Brewery.
