Early on in his career, Marshall Crenshaw was compared to Buddy Holly. The resemblance was so canny that he even starred as Holly in La Bamba, a film about Ritchie Valens. Last year Crenshaw released, #392: The EP Collection, featuring material and other versions of songs from over the years, in addition to some new mixes. It’s a compilation that Crenshaw didn’t intend to make, but one that fans are lapping up.
