Loy H. Witherspoon Lecture in Religious Studies

"The Very Idea of Queer Religion" Dr. Mark Jordan, a scholar from Harvard’s Divinity School, will be delivering a lecture entitled, “The Very Idea of Queer Religion.” He’ll be exploring the historical, theological, spiritual, and secular implications of this phrase as it relates to what it means to our understanding – or misunderstanding – of being religious.The Loy H. Witherspoon Lecture in Religious Studies, the oldest and most prestigious endowed lecture series at UNC Charlotte, was established in 1984 to honor the distinguished career and service of its namesake, the first chairperson of the Department of Religious Studies at UNCCharlotte.
