Live music to check out during CIAA

Beyond the parties and the basketball games, this year's edition of the CIAA is also going to serve up some tasty helpings of live music. Here's a look at a few of the more notable concerts going down this week:

Feb. 25

Louisiana comes to North Cack when New Orleans music legends The Neville Brothers and Dr. John hit town performing a ton of their classic Cajun-flavored tunes. $24. and up. 7:30 p.m. Belk Theater, 130 N. Tryon St. 704-379-1380. www.blumenthalcenter.org.

Feb. 26

Tonight you get two opportunities to experience the percussion-laden sounds of Go-Go music with Rare Essence & Backyard Band at the Belk Theater ($25-$45. 7 p.m. 130 N. Get a taste of jazz and Southern-style cooking at the Low Country Jazz Fish Fry. Presented by Mert's Heart and Soul and First United Presbyterian Church, the event features food (like fried fish and chicken, baked beans, slaw, and desserts) and live performances from local jazz artists. $8. 11 a.m.--5 p.m. Held at First United Presbyterian Church, 406 N. FEB. 28
