It's been a few years between sips for fans of Manhattan Transfer, but the swinging quartet -- with repertoire ranging from jazz to gospel to pop -- returns to Belk Theater for two concerts with the Charlotte Symphony. Defined by their signature "Birdland," one of the most harmonically rich arrangements ever to hit the charts, Manhattan Transfer has won critical accolades, 10 Grammys, and a legion of adoring fans. Quality matters. If you're under 25, snag $10 advance tickets at Founders Hall ticket office with valid ID. Parking challenged? Same deal available at Symphony HQ in Midtown Plaza, 1300 Baxter St., Suite 300. Fri-Sat, 8 p.m. $16-$68. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, 130 N. Tryon St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
