Lecture: The Marriage of Art + Architecture

When: Thu., Jan. 5, 7 p.m. 2012

The Mint Museum is rolling in the new year with a fresh new event series, called Contemporary Architecture + Design (CAD). The line-up begins with "The Marriage of Art + Architecture," a lecture featuring Rodolfo Machado (a principal of Machado and Silvetti Associates who designed Mint Museum Uptown) and artist Sheila Hicks (whose works currently reside in the museum's Sheila Hicks: Fifty Years exhibit). Hicks (pictured with one of her constructions) uses textiles, clothing and found objects to create colorful sculptures, weavings, drawings and other forms of media, 100 of which can be found in the current showcase. The series continues through 2012 with a range of topics and guests.
