N.C. Senate candidate in District 38 Mujtaba Mohammed is a member of the Leading on Opportunity Council with a priority on early childhood education.
An alarming stat states that less than 40 percent of fourth-grade students in CMS can read on grade level. Early childhood education can be key to tackling illiteracy in schools, and in this panel, local community leaders will discuss the impact of early care and education on economic opportunity, the effect of lack of early care and education on the community and the role we can play in charging a path forward.
