'Interbeing' Opening and Artist Talk

When: Fri., Jan. 5, 4:30-6:30 p.m. 2018

Thich Nhat Hanh is a 91-year-old Vietnamese monk and peace activist who coined the term “interbeing” to describe the interconnectedness of the universe, meaning that one is part of the web of life, not isolated. The term inspired this exhibit, featuring the works of Kenny Nguyen, a Charlotte artist and Vietnamese immigrant. Nguyen’s multi-layered paintings symbolize his own intertwined experiences being lost in an unfamiliar environment.
