DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979

Bassist Jesse F. Keeler and singer/drummer Sebastien Grainger refer to their music as dance punk. Perhaps it is, but Death From Above 1979 — who reunited in 2011 after a five-year breakup — doesn’t fit snuggly under either one of those genre labels. The band’s heavy-handed style has hints of rock and pop just as much as dance or punk. They’re opening for Incubus and Deftones. (Jeff Hahne)
