As a fellow redhead, I have to confess that ... I love Lucy (and, of course, the charming Lucille Ball, who brought the clumsy housewife role alive). FYI: This has less to do with roots and more to do with personality. Reruns of the ’50s sitcom I Love Lucy gave black-and-white a place on my childhood’s otherwise colorful palette of TV favorites. Needless to say, I was excited to hear that a new stage adaptation based on bits from the show was coming to Charlotte. Not only would it be live, but it would be in color. Sirena Irwin (whose credits include the voicing of Mrs. SquarePants on SpongeBob) and Bill Mendieta star in the leading roles of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.
