North Carolina's General Assembly last year took controversial election steps — cutting early voting, requiring photo ID for voting and changing the machinery on which voters will cast ballots. The electoral meltdown of the 2000 election has driven change nationwide. Martha Kropf, a UNC Charlotte faculty author and national expert on election administration, will discuss how the 200 election still haunts us today. A reception will immediately follow and complimentary parking will be provided. RSVP to clas-event@uncc.edu or 704-687-1429
