Celebrating their 25th year, the folks at Actor’s Theatre asked its audiences what they wanted to see again. Apparently three times was not enough for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, as votes have won it a fourth go-round. Back in the title role is Billy Ensley, who originated the sexually butchered rocker in 2003, reprised his bitter star turn in 2004, and directed the show again in 2007? A few “heads” might point to one of the punkish Angry Inch band members, since we opined that Ensley was at least a decade too old for Hedwig years back. Fortunately, the gaudy wig Ensley wore hasn’t lost its luster, and Charlotte’s aging triple-threat will merely look more wasted underneath it. In additional gender bending, Raquel Novo takes on the role of Hedwig’s pitifully berated husband, Yitzhak. Stage director Chip Decker has Ryan Stamey leading the five-piece band from the keyboard, with Jeremy DeCarlos and Matt Carlson wielding the axes. (Perry Tannenbaum)
