McGlohon screens a documentary about jazz ensemble Hypnotic Brass Ensemble a few weeks before the eight-brother combo brings their slipknot weave of jazz, funk, soul and hip hop to the venue on January 26. The brothers’ music is showcased in filmmaker Rueben Atlas’ fly-on-the-wall portrait, but the doc also focuses on the band’s fractured yet loving relationship with their father, jazz trumpeter and activist Phil Cohran.
